Control of Population Number of Tomato Leaf Miner Tuta Absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) in the Strumica Region

Abstract

The objective of this research is to monitor and control the size of thepopulation of tomato leaf miner Tuta absoluta (Meyrick, 1917) in the Strumicaregion. Tests were carried out on production plot on acreage of 0,1, in the areaof the village Boriovo over two harvests, spring and summer. Pest monitoringwas performed using yellow sticky traps that were set against reflectormeasuring 50 W bulb which lit the plate, where the miner T.absoluta followingthe light was trapped. Control of the number of population of the pest wascarried out with pheromone traps Type - 500, that attract males. Both methodsproved to be quite effective for monitoring and control of the number of thepest population.
