Abstract

The extent of the realization of human rights in a society

could be judged by the quantum of rights that are enjoyed by prisoners

in it. However, the realization of the foreseen rights of prisoners

worldwide is a particularly sensitive matter, which only shows the

global problem in understanding the freedoms and rights of a person in

general. The needs conditioned by the gender differentials are those that

distinguish women from the mass of prisoners and condition the initial

prescribed treatment, before the overall individualization. For a

significant period, woman has been on the margins, when it comes to

investigating or resolving issues related to the effectiveness of applying

the criminal sanctions over them. When women in prisons are forgotten,

their entire social role is also forgotten. As a part of the prison society,

on a global scale, women fulfil from 3-10%.
