INTRODUCTION TO FAKE NEWS – DEFINING AND CATEGORIZING

Abstract

Fake news is a term that at the moment is often used and commonly known, of course, in a very negative context. One of the consequences of the common usage is that, like with all other words, if it is repeated often enough and used for all and everything, it starts to lose its meaning. This essay is an attempt to demystify and explain in detail the term “fake news„ , through his appearance throughout mankind’s history, his categorization, and his comparison with the term news (and the ethical standards behind it).
