In this context, Power-to-X technologies, together with thedevelopment of low carbon electricity generation facilities look promising for full decarbonization by 2050.This paper describes three types of Power-to-X technologies, the basic principle of Power-to-X systems andthe reactions that occur. Then the technical and economic parameters for Power-to-H2, Power-to-CH4 andPower-to-Liquids are reviewed, followed by their advantages and disadvantages. An assessment is made ofthe conditions under which these technologies can compete with the alternative low-carbon productionprocesses by 2050.Key words: Power-to-X technologies, Power-to-H2, Power-to-CH4, Power-to-Liquids.
