CHARACTERISTICS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA

Abstract

Domestic violence and its scientific definition and concretization begin to attract the attention of theorists relatively late compared to its presence, which we have noted since the earliest times. The states in their laws and other acts and the international organizations themselves in their documents have started defining this term in the last 4 decades, which speaks volumes about the irrelevance and lack of understanding of violence in the family as a major social problem. In accordance with the previous, the violence that is perpetrated against women in our society in most of the cases remains unrecognized by other individuals and relevant institutions and is characterized by an enormously high dark figure.
