In the period from 69 to 313 BC Christians were persecuted in the Roman Empire, in the 18th and 19th centuries crimes were committed by the British colonies against the natives in Australia, in the 20th century apartheid in South Africa,The Holocaust during World War II, The Rwandan Genocide in 1994, etc. All these enumerated events testify to the fact that this type of crime - hate crimes have existed for a long time, even in the Roman state. However, the scientific study of this phenomenon began in the 90s of the last century, first by the United States. The incrimination of this type of crime is of great importance in order to prevent future such catastrophes by imposing harsher penalties for its commission.
