THE PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE AS A SPECIAL STATE AUTHORITY
Abstract
Today, most modern countries entrust the management of the entire preliminary procedure to the public prosecution, in close cooperation with the police and the growing number of specialized authorities that work to monitor, analyze and detect various forms of crime and corruption. With the aim of building and growing it into a respectable institution that will guarantee the rule of law in modern democracies, the public prosecutor's office is increasingly profiled as a separate and independent body of justice, distancing itself from the executive power. Modern forms of criminality have raised questions about a more efficient and effective fight against it before the public prosecutor, who appears as the only competent authority for prosecuting the perpetrators of crimes on official duty while respecting human freedoms and rights.
