POLITICIZATION OF THE CHURCH AND STATE RELATIONS IN THE MODERN WORLD: A ROLE OF ROC IN POLITICAL LIFE OF RUSSIA

Abstract

The growth of religious attitudes in the modern world has a significant impact on the socio-political processes, which indicates the need of society in filling the spiritual life with moral content based on religious values. At the same time, politicization of religion is taking place, connected with the use of religious ideas by political actors to realize their goals. The church in modern countries is an influential social institution that builds its activities with the state based on mutual understanding and trust, taking into account the realization of its own interests. Interaction between religious organizations and the state takes place on a legal basis, taking into account the historical role of the church in the formation of the nation and civil society, which is a key factor in the construction of a modern society. The Russian Orthodox Church in modern Russia was institutionalized as a political entity that can influence various processes both in the country and abroad. Actively participating in public and state life of the country, the ROC firmly upholds its position, persistently advances its interests and follows the principle that does not allow state structures to penetrate church affairs, while remaining the most important subject in the public sphere.

Relationship between church and the state in modern Russia endures various stages in the formation. So, in the 1990th they were caused by the fault complex which developed at the Russian power before church for years of communistic board. In the XXI century of relationship began to be under construction more on mutual support and trust of the secular and spiritual power. The church actively is engaged social and charity, cooperating with the central, regional and local authorities, charitable and other public organizations and associations of citizens, representatives of traditional religions and faiths, political parties, labor unions, business community. As the important resource providing modern leadership of church its ability to respond to the most topical problems in society is. The Russian Orthodox Church has accurately verified point of view on all actual problems of modern Russia: modernization, bureaucratization, fight against poverty, revival of greatness of the power.
