EUROPEAN UNION’S LEGAL FRAMEWORK REGARDLESS THE ENVIRONMENTAL LAW

Abstract

Environmental law, as one of the essential fundamental human rights, often is a subject
of a debate, in terms of its content and in terms of its nature, which happens, especially in the
last few decades. The awareness for the protection of the Environmental law has recently been brought to a new level, in order to achieve the aim. In the world of Science, there are Experts
whose declare this right as the third generation of Human Rights.
For the climate changes, as well as environmental protection, the EU takes actions
for formulating and implementing climate policies and strategies, taking a leading role in
international climate negotiations. The European Union is also playing a key role in promoting
sustainable development on a global level. In fact, sustainable development is a key goal
for the EU, which is committed to a “high level of environmental protection and quality
improvement” in accordance with Article 3 of the Treaty on European Union, which will be
elaborated in more detail in this paper.
