The concept of communication is a central focus in many scientific disciplines, each of which employs the term in its own specific way. This paper examines communication as a process—from the transmission of messages to interpretation and feedback—and explores its role in the creation, management, and resolution of conflicts. In an organizational context, communication is of fundamental importance for conflict prevention and resolution, trust-building, and the promotion of a collaborative culture. Communication represents a core process upon which all interpersonal relationships and organizational structures are based. It can serve as a source of understanding and cooperation, but also as a cause of misunderstandings and conflicts.
The aim of this paper is to analyze the communication process as a dual mechanism: on the one hand, as a means of conflict resolution, and on the other, as a potential factor in the escalation of conflicts. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is presented as a model of interpersonal interaction grounded in empathy, respect, and an understanding of unspoken human needs. On the one hand, NVC offers an effective pathway for conflict resolution through open dialogue and the transformation of confrontational situations into opportunities for cooperation. On the other hand, imprecise application or superficial use of NVC may lead to increased feelings of dissatisfaction, frustration, and even an escalation of conflict.
