Important Update: BSSR Adopts Continuous Submission Model for Greater Flexibility
Dear Authors, Reviewers, and Readers,
To enhance the efficiency of our publishing process and better serve our scholarly community, the Balkan Social Science Review (BSSR) is pleased to announce a significant update to our submission and editorial procedures.
Effective immediately, we are transitioning to a Continuous Submission and Flexible Editorial Review Model.
Key Changes:
- No More Fixed Submission Deadlines: Authors may now submit high-quality manuscripts year-round, at any time.
- Flexible Review Timeline: The peer review process will commence upon submission, after positive editorial decision following the initial screening of the paper. While we strive for prompt decisions, the notification date will no longer be tied to a fixed calendar date.
- Biannual Issue Publication Remains: BSSR will continue to publish two curated volumes per year in June and December. All articles accepted and finalized in the preceding period will be included in the next available issue.
Upon submission, your manuscript enters our editorial queue and is subject to initial screenig by the editorial team.
In case of positive decision (for which authors are notified) the editorial team will manage submissions flexibly, assigning them for peer review based on topical fit and reviewer availability.
Once accepted and finalized (after revisions), your article will be formally included in the next scheduled June or December issue, depending on the decision of the editoraila board, maintaining our biannual publication schedule.
