POSSIBLE EQUIVALENT RELATIONS IN PHRASEOLOGISMS WITH THE COMPONENT «EAR» AND THEIR TRANSLATION IN LITERARY WORKS FROM MACEDONIAN TO GERMAN
Abstract
Abstract: To transfer idiomatic expressions from one language to another means to convey the experiences, culture, and communication style of a people. This requires special attention and creativity, blending two expressions with different linguistic structures into the same connotation. This means that translating idioms is not merely a matter of translating individual words, but much more than that. This effort represents an attempt to analyze idiomatic expressions with a certain component as an integral part and an attempt to find an appropriate equivalent in the target language in order to preserve the essence of the idiom’s meaning.
Key words: idiomatic expressions, translation, equivalence, culture-specific elements
