INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

The Yearbook accepts original research papers, review papers, short communications, professional papers, presentations and book reviews in the the field of teaching, scientific and application activities of the Faculty of philology at the Goce Delcev University.

Aims & Scope

The international Yearbook aims to publish papers in the area of language, literature, translation and teaching methodology. In addition, there is a section for reviews of books, recensions of the latest publications (books, monographs, etc.) in the broader sphere of philology.

Category of the paper

Original research papers report unpublished results of original research work. The scientific information presented in the paper should be processed and presented in the way that the experiment is reproducible and the truthfulness of experimental analyses, results and conclusions should be provable.

Review papers are complete review of a problem or area, based on huge published material which in the Yearbook is collected, analyzed and discussed. In the review is consulted and extensive world literature, closely related to the field that is investigated.

Short communications are reports of preliminary results of important researches, pilot projects or projects of international importance whose results are urgent for publication. These papers in explanation and analysis of the results have limited aspects, but in the methodology of the examinations have new or modified techniques of existing methodologies.

Professional papers are useful addition to the profession which area of study is not connected necessary to original research work. The aim of the paper is not new knowledge, but usage of already gain knowledge of world known research and their adaptation to the needs of the practice. Presentation of the professional papers research results must not be of statistical data processing.

Presentations are reports of new scientific results, based on the experts’ analysis. Presentations contain short reports of new scientific results whose nature requires urgent publication.

Book reviews contain reviews of relevant publications and books of great importance not older than two years and may be published in the Yearbook.

 

Reviews

All the manuscripts are liable to scientific and professional review process before the publication. The reviewer is giving a recommendation for paper category, but the final decision for publication is made by the Editorial Board. For each manuscript Editorial Board appointed the 3 (three) reviewers. Reviewers, determines by the Editorial Board, submitted the review, prepared according to the Yearbook criteria, i.e. completed review form (form attached to this manual). They get the form together with the manuscript by the Editorial Board. Each reviewer completed review form independently. The manuscript could be published if received at least 2 (two) positive review forms.

 

Manuscript preparation (АРА Style)

The manuscripts should be prepared completely according to these instructions. The manuscript written in English is submitted to the Editorial office of the Yearbook. The paper should be written in MS Word, not less than 8 (eight) pages A4 format, font Arial, font size 11 with single space, justify alignment through whole document and margins 2.54 cm (down, up, left, right).

The manuscript contains the following chapters:

After each new chapter one free single space is left, but without single space between the title and the text in the chapter.

 

Literature citation (АРА Style)

In the literature, cited references are listed in alphabetical order of authors and chronological order of publications of one author, from newer to older references. In the text, the references should be cited as the following examples: Novakov (2001) or (Dumas et al., 2006, 1999).

The authors should follow the following examples, when cited literature in the text is listed in the chapter References for:

Attachments

Tables: Table caption should be always above the table, font size 11, without space between the table and the title of the table.

Figures: Title of the figures should always be placed under the pictures. Figures include graphics, photography drawing, charts, pies, histograms etc. Photographs are attached

in the format and quality which is necessary for printing in a separate folder and the authors are responsible for its originality. Reference to articles throughout the text as:

Table 2 shows the number of species;

The highest number of the species was in March (Fig. 3, Tab. 1).

When using units and symbols, the authors need to apply International System of Units, SI System.

 

Submission of a manuscript

Manuscripts should be submitted exclusively by electronic means, to Yearbook e-mail address and an address of the editor. Authors submit the manuscript in 2 (two) separate files as follows: Cover letter and Manuscript.

Cover letter contains:

  • TITLE (CAPITAL LETTERS BOLD, 11, justify);
  • Name and surname of author/s, noted with superscript (bold, 11);
  • Author/s address, the address of more authors from different institutions to be noted with superscript (italic, 10);
  • Proposal for a potential 3 (three) reviewers and their addresses and contact information.

 

Manuscript contains:

Manuscript contains all other sections of the paper, except the name/names and data of the author/author's.

  • TITLE (CAPITAL LETTERS BOLD, 11, justify);
  • Abstracts (max 250 words)
  • Key words (3-7 words which are not included in the title)
  • Introduction
  • Material and methods
  • Results and discussion

The editor sends the manuscript without the names and details of author/s to reviewers along with the form reviewers. Reviewer evaluates the manuscript without the data of the submitters of the manuscript.

 

Responsibility of the author/s

Submission of a manuscript implies that: the work described has not been published before (except in the form of an abstract, or a part of a published lecture, or thesis); it is not under consideration for publication anywhere; its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any. Publication has been approved as well as by the responsible authorities at the institute (institution) where the work has been carried out. The publisher will not be held legally responsible in case of claims for compensation and reimbursement of authors’ rights.

Manuscript must confirm strictly to the instruction for authors and sent to the editor. Incoming manuscripts are initially judged by the editor. Manuscripts may be rejected without peer review if they do not comply with the instructions to author or are beyond the scope of the Yearbook. If the manuscript is acceptable in principle, it will be forwarded to referees for

evaluation. All manuscript are reviewed by 3 (three) independent reviewers. After final edition and approval by the editorial board, the manuscript will be accepted for publication. The editor reserves the right to make editorial changes. Authors agree, after the manuscripts acceptance, with the transfer of copyright to the publisher.
