IDIOMS IN THE SPEECH OF GERMAN POLITICIANS AND THEIR TRANSLATABILITY INTO MACEDONIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract

Phraseologisms, as a reflection of individual and collective style, are often
present in the language of politics. That is why the subject of the paper research is the
phraseological expressions in the political speeches of current German politicians, and for the
corpus of the research we took several speeches with a more recent date from current German
politicians. Our goal is, through practical examples, to emphasize the frequent presence of
idioms in political speeches and in the everyday life of the general public, but also to arouse
the interest and desire of linguists and communicators, who deal with relevant linguistic
issues, which are current on the political scene in Germany and in the world.
