Manifestation, Measurement and Assessment of speed at 6 Years old Children
Abstract
This paper analyses the theoretic aspect of speed in 6 years old children, it`s manifestation, measuremenт and assessment in physical education curricula in primary education in Republic of Macedonia. Findings presented in this paper are obtained in research realized on a sample of 123 examinees, 6 years old male children, pupils at first grade in primary school. Three motor tests are used for assessment of speed. Speed manifestation in latent motor space, tests characteristics and norms for assessment of speed are obtained using adequate statistics methods and procedures. All these findings could be used as foundation for assessment and evaluation of motor abilities in physical education teaching process. Result analysis points out on good discriminativity and homogenity of the tests, significant validity and represeativity of all three applied tests. According obtained results, the test running of 4x10m has best metric characteristics; lower characteristics are noted for the test speed running with changes of direction, while lowest tests characteristics are noted for the test 10 m running with run – up. The first two tests are recommended for further use with 6 years old children. Norms for assessment of children`s achivements are also calculated. The aim of proposed norms is to facilitate the process of measurement of children`s motor development.Downloads
