ПРИДОБИВКИ ОД ПРИМЕНАТА НА СТАНДАРДИ ОД ОБЛАСТА НА ТУРИЗМОТ ВО С. МАКЕДОНИЈА

Abstract

The standards published by the National Standardization Body of North Macedonia are increasingly being implemented in all fields that directly or indirectly (e.g. sustainable development and corporate social responsibility) affect the development of the field of tourism. In the scope of the activities performed by the Technical Committee for Tourism and Related Services, so far, no analysis of the benefits deriving from applying the Macedonian national standards, European and international standards adopted as Macedonian has been conducted.
For the purposes of the herein presented research, a questionnaire has been prepared which assesses the scope and benefits implied by the application of standards in the field of tourism and related services, i.e. tourist destinations and competency requirements, equipment and facilities, etc., in order to provide stakeholders with criteria for performing informed decisions that ensure sustainability.
The conducted research indicates that the proper and continuous application of standards by stakeholders in the tourism sector enhances their competitiveness, promotes sustainable operations and improves the image of corporate social responsibility.
