Gastrodiplomacy as a recent form of diplomatic activity, which has been in a strong rise and development for the past ten years, faced extraordinary challenges related to its functioning during the pandemic. Being essentially related to social gastronomy and gastrotourism, over the months of limited social contacts and movement, gastrodiplomacy dramatically transformed its basic operations in an almost identical way - from the space of real exchange of shared experiences related to traditional cuisines, the food and beverages of countries, regions and areas, it almost completely transferred its activities to the virtual space. Even in such extraordinary circumstances, numerous countries with rich and positive experience in practicing gastronomy managed to capture the interest and stay attractive to audiences abroad, inventing original and easily viable ways to promote the authenticity and attractiveness of their gastroculture, thus gaining exceptional advantage in the promotion of tourism, primarily cultural tourism and gastrotourism in the months of pandemic relief measures.
