PARONYMS IN COMPARISON WITH OTHER WORDS

Abstract

In the modern Macedonian language, it is often observed that speakers incorrectly use words, replacing them with inappropriate alternatives. This is usually due to a lack of understanding of the semantics of certain words or carelessness when using vocabulary. Paronyms are a common source of confusion in the modern Macedonian language, where words are often mistakenly substituted for one another. Recognizing paronyms is crucial for effective communication and mutual understanding. To prevent misunderstandings, it is essential to read and write carefully and have a solid grasp of word meanings. This paper explores the relationship between paronyms and other word types such as synonyms, homonyms, and antonyms.
