Abstract

In this paper we present results from the studies made to obtain a pictureof the distribution of lead in water, sediment, rice and some gardening culturesin the confl uence of the river Bregalnica. The research, which lasted for two years and was carried out on theterritory of Eastern Macedonia, had the aim to determine the degree of waterpollution in the river Bregalnica with its tributaries. We have examined thepollution with some heavy metals as a result of direct release of waste waterfrom the lead-zinc mines “Zletovo” and “Sasa”, as well as the copper mine“Bucim”.
