ADDITIONAL TEACHING - STEP TO SUCCESSFUL START OF LANGUAGE STUDIES
Abstract
The book “Supplemental instruction - preparation for greater success in studies” by authors Nina Daskalovska, Dragana Kuzmanovska and Violeta Dimova was published in 2019, as a result of the project “Supplemental instruction as a tool for improving students' language competence at the Faculty of Philology”. This project resulted in another book “Using literature in Macedonian language teaching” by Marija Ivanova, Nina Daskalovska, Violeta Dimova and Dragana Kuzmanovska published the same year. These books summarize the results of the research carried out under the aforementioned project implemented at the Faculty of Philology at the University "Goce Delcev" in Shtip in the period of exactly two years (September 2017 - September 2019). The first mentioned book consists of a total of 182 pages divided into ten titles, four of which are written in Macedonian and six in English. The second book consists several literary texts that are divided into 110 pages. In the introductory part, the author Daskalovska gives a brief scientific approach to the use of literary texts in language learning, first drawing the attention of the readers to the authors who argue against, and then to those who argue in favour of the use of authentic literary texts in teaching students to communicate in everyday life as well as in the academic context.
