Morphological Characteristics of Fruits of Different Androgenic Pepper Lines (Capsicum annuum L.) Cultivated in Plastic Tunnel (2007-2009)

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the relationships and differences betweenthe original pepper genotypes utilized in the process of androgenesis and obtainedandrogenic pepper lines cultivated in a plastic tunnel. Different androgenic linesof pepper obtained from the varieties Kurtovska kapija, Piran, Zlaten medal and Feherozon were compared. The pepper varieties as well as their androgenic linesdiffer among themselves in the length of their phonological phases, fruit type andfruit utilization. Each of the pepper line carries genetic potential and characteristicswhich can be utilized in the breeding process. For that reason, a detailed study andcharacterization in different production conditions is necessary. This on one hand willsort out lines with positive characteristics and on the other hand will enrich the peppergene pool in the country.
